Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich’s (D. NM) re-election campaign:
A budget shows what a president values, and President Trump’s cruel values are on full display in his budget.
- He’s slashing Medicaid by nearly a trillion dollars, and cutting programs hard-working New Mexicans depend on,
- He’s gutting funding for rural hospitals, making it even harder for our rural communities to access health care,
- He’s eliminating after school programs that help students receive a meal and continue their education,
- He's cutting pensions, slashing public employee positions and asking workers to pay the government more out of each paycheck,
- And he’s prioritizing the one percent over the American people by hand-delivering billionaires and corporations massive tax cuts.
We need to fight this budget. Stand with Martin and condemn Trump’s dangerous budget! >>
If President Trump succeeds in getting his way, his wealthy friends and donors will receive massive tax breaks at the expense of hardworking Americans.
This is just plain wrong. That’s why we need you to stand with Martin today and condemn Trump’s cruel budget.
